The summary below contains spoilers.
Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989)Today’s magical holiday tale starts by running back the end of Halloween 4, when Michael Myers is blasted into a mine shaft by the Haddonfield Sherrif’s department and Illinois State Police. However, we learn in this flick that our masked hero escapes the mine shaft just as the law enforcement officials drop dynamite down the shaft, attempting to seal Michael’s fate forever. Michael drifts down river until he is saved by an elderly Mountain Main who attempts to nurse Michael back to health in his secluded shack.

Flashforward one year: Jamie Lloyd, Michael’s niece and the little clown who stabbed her foster mother with a pair of scissors in Halloween 4, awakens to a vision of her uncle donning his infamous white mask before killing the Mountain Man who saved his life. Michael heads out for Haddonfield to resume his mission of killing Jamie Lloyd and anyone who gets in his way.

Jamie, who was abandoned by her foster parents, currently resides in the Haddonfield Children’s Clinic, where she is dealing with the traumatic events of Halloween 4, her telepathic link to Meyers, and Dr. Sam Loomis’ constant screaming about needing Jamie’s help to stop Michael Meyers. Jamie’s foster sister, Rachel, decides to abandon Jamie in Haddonfield during the Halloween holiday, but is rewarded for fearing the reaper when Michael stabs Rachel right in the heart before she is able to escape town. Jaime senses Rachel’s death, begins to have convulsions, and has everyone fearing for her life. Unfortunately, for Jamie, and the audience, the film’s real trauma is on its way.

With Rachel out of the picture, Michael turns his attention to Rachel’s busty, yet clueless, friend, Tina Williams. Somehow, Michael believes Tina can lead him to Jamie. Unfortunately, Michael allows Tina to stay alive for too long during this film. But we will get to that later in the podcast.

Michael Meyers’ next move is to murder and impersonate Tina’s asshole boyfriend Michael (how clever) by wearing a Halloween mask Tina bought for her beau. After Tina gets ditched by the faux Michael, Tina goes to a legendary Halloween party at the Tower Farm with her friends, Samantha and Spitz. Meanwhile, Jamie senses Michael is following the trio to the farm party and heads out on a road trip with her friend Billy to try and save Tina.

Tina helps Spitz and Sam set up a rendezvous spot in a barn to fornicate, but she actually sets them up to be slaughtered by Michael Meyers. While Spitz is on top of Sam, Michael puts a pitchfork straight through a horny Spitz’s back. Sam briefly escapes, but the little devil has the privilege of being sliced up by a scythe. Jamie and Billy track down Tina, who has been abandoned by the other party goers, and her deceased friends. Michael Meyers chases Tina and the kids with boyfriend Michael’s hot rod. Tina sacrifices her pointless existence to save Jamie and Billy. Luckily, Dr. Loomis and the police arrive just in time to save Jamie from her uncle. Jamie realizes it is up to her and the burn scarred Dr. Loomis to work together in capturing and/or killing Michael Meyers.

Sheriff Meeker, Dr. Loomis, and the Haddonfield SWAT team set up a trap for Michaels Meyers at the abandoned, yet extremely improved, Myers house, where it all began. While everyone is patiently waiting for the serial killer to arrive, Michael breaks into the children’s hospital, killing a number of staffers, and creating a distraction for the Sheriff and the entire Haddonfield SWAT team. Meeker’s posse races to the clinic, leaving Jamie behind with two deputies and Dr. Loomis. Realizing this is all a ploy, Loomis wants to continue using Jamie Lloyd as bait for Michael. Luckily for Dr. Loomis, Michael comes home, easily kills the two deputies, and sets his target on his niece. Dr. Loomis tries to talk Michael into a trap he has set, but Michael catches on and stabs Loomis before throwing him down a staircase. Michael proceeds to chase Jamie into the attic, where his niece finds Rachel’s dead body, along with their dead dog, Max, and Tina’s original boyfriend, asshole Michael. Jamie talks her uncle into lowering his guard and temporarily removing his mask, but Michael comes to his senses and resumes his mission: killing Jamie Lloyd. Dr. Loomis recovers from his wounds, drops a metal chain net on Michael, then shoots Michael with tranquilizer darts. Loomis proceeds to beat Meyers unconscious with a wood board before collapsing on top of Michael and passing out.

Sheriff Meeker and his men place Michael in chains, then lock him up in a cell. They called on the Illinois State Police to come and take Michael to a maximum security penitentiary. While Jamie prepares to be returned to the children’s hospital, a mysterious man in a black trench coat, pointed cowboy boots, and a fancy hat, walks right into the Sherriff’s station with little effort. The mystery man, who shares a wrist tattoo with Meyers, blows up the entire Sherriff’s station, then kills everyone with a machine gun! Little Jamie returns to the station house to find Sheriff Meeker and all of his officers murdered. As she tours the facility, the little girl finds Michael has escaped from his cell and fled the building. Jamie cries aloud, as the film ends, knowing her uncle will be around to wreak havoc for more Halloweens to come.

The End.
