‘Better Off Dead’ Plot Synopsis

In Better Off Dead, Lane Meyer is a depressed teen whose girlfriend, Beth, dumped him. Her reason for it is, “Lane, I think it’d be in my best interest if I dated somebody more popular. Better looking. Drives a nicer car.” Alone, Lane begins thinking of treacherous ways to kill himself until he falls for a French girl named Monique. While he goes through this, he must also cope with his mother’s terrible cooking, and annoying next door neighbor, Ricky before he can enter a skiing competition to get his girlfriend back.
