‘Blue Thunder’ Plot Synopsis
Blue Thunder is a specially modified helicopter used in for police work that’s designed to counter street insurgencies. While its makers want to show what it can do, the LAPD currently doesn’t have anyone trained to fly it. That’s where pilot Frank Murphy comes in. The program makers train Murphy to operate the machine, but their lead training pilot is Col. Cochrane—Murphy’s old nemesis from his tours in Vietnam—and neither man is pleased to see the other. As the two men rekindle their old issues, Murphy begins to suspect that there’s more to this Blue Thunder program than they have led him to believe.
