Lilo & Stitch (2002) Send Cuteness to Blu-ray
Walt Disney Home Entertainment has announced that they are adding Lilo & Stitch to their upcoming slate of Blu-ray releases. The film was directed by Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders and features the voice talents of Daveigh Chase, Chris Sanders, Tia Carrere, David Ogden Stiers, Ving Rhames, and Jason Scott Lee. The Blu-ray will also include the direct-to-video sequel Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch. Lilo & Stitch will be available in stores and online June 11, 2013.
Lilo and Stitch tells the story of Lilo (Chase), a lonely little girl, and Stitch (Sanders), a mischievous little creature from outer space. When Stitch crash-lands in Hawaii, Lilo adopts him as her pet, but he soon turns her world upside down. Stitch takes Hawaii by storm, wreaking havoc and hanging ten, all while evading the alien bounty hunters hot on his trail and learning about loyalty and friendship. With six original Elvis Presley songs, Lilo and Stitch is fun for the entire family.
The laughter continues Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch as Stitch settles into life with his human family. However, it appears his molecular makeup is out of whack and his friendship with Lilo (Dakota Fanning) is threatened as a result. Lilo and her friends must find a way to restore his “goodness” level before he ruins everything, including Lilo’s big hula competition the same competition her mother won years before.
Lilo & Stitch was released in June of 2002. Lilo & Stitch 2 followed three years later in a direct-to-video release.
Walt Disney Home Video has not released any details concerning the exact tech specs and special features that will be included with the disc.
