Universal Studios Home Entertainment announced last week that Sea of Love will be released on Blu-ray this June. Harold Becker directed the film starring Al Pacino, Ellen Barkin, and John Goodman.

‘Sea Of Love’ Summary

The thriller was directed by Harold Becker and stars Al Pacino and Ellen Barkin.  Written by acclaimed crime novelist and screenwriter Richard Price, the film also features John Goodman, John Spencer, Richard Jenkins, Michael Rooker, William Hickey, Paul Calderon, and an early appearance from Samuel L. JacksonLove was released in September of 1989, and went onto to gross over $58 million at the box office.  The film marked the return of Pacino to the big screen, after he took a break from movies after 1985’s Revolution.

Pacino plays Frank Keller, an NYPD detective hunting a brutal serial killer.  The case takes an unusual turn, however, when Keller falls in love with a beautiful woman (Barkin) who may have a dangerous connection with the murderer that could put Keller’s own life at risk.

Universal’s Blu-ray presents the film in its 1.85:1 original aspect ratio with a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track.  The disc also contains a commentary by Becker and a featurette titled The Creation of Sea of Love.  Sea of Love streets on June 5th.
